Meet the 2020 Coaches

Ed DeWitt - Head Coach
Ed DeWitt enters his second season at the helm for the Oliver Ames Tigers after a successful first season last fall. DeWitt is entering his 14th season as a coach and his 24th fall on the gridiron.  Coach spent past seasons as the Offensive Coordinator at Hingham High School and helped the Harbormen to a South Sectional Final appearance.  Prior to that, he was the Defensive Coordinator at Sharon High School.  Before Sharon, Coach was the Defensive Coordinator at North Quincy High School.  Coach has also spent time at Canton High School, Curry College and the Quincy Point Panther youth program. 

 
Coach played two years of college football at St. Anselm College and is a 2004 graduate of Quincy High School having captained the football team his senior season. 

Coach is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts and has his M. Ed in History from Bridgewater State University.  He currently teaches at Sharon Middle School.  He lives in Braintree with his wife Jen and sons Teddy and Jack.

​Paul Carson - Defensive Coordinator  
Coach PJ Carson was born in raised in Quincy, MA where he played offensive and defensive line at Quincy High, graduating in 2008.  Due to injuries he was unable to follow his plan to play at Nichols College and decided to turn his focus to coaching. He spent the last 9 years coaching at his alma mater climbing the ranks from Freshmen Assistant Coach to Varsity Assistant Defensive Coordinator.  Over his time in Quincy he also coached offensive line, wide receivers, defensive line, and linebackers.
​

When he’s not coaching, Coach Carson is also an 8th grade math teacher in Quincy.  Over the summer he is a camp director for Quincy Recreation Department. In his spare time, Coach enjoys golfing, playing basketball, and grilling.

​Sean LoPresti - Offensive & Defensive Line
Sean LoPresti is completing his 23rd year teaching and coaching.  He is a Technology Teacher at Milton High School and has been there for the last twenty years.  Coach LoPresti has been a football and basketball coach for the majority of those years.  The last four years he has been coaching football at Sharon High School in many different roles; offensive and defensive line coach, wide receivers coach, and defensive coordinator.  Prior to Sharon High School Coach LoPresti coached football at Milton High School for three years again in a number of roles; volunteer scout and defensive and offensive line coach. He has spent four years at BC High as an assistant freshman coach for two years and tight end and defensive end coach at the varsity level for two years.  Prior to BC High, he coached football for four years at Milton High School spending two years as the Head Freshman Football coach and two years at the varsity level as the offensive and defensive line coach.  Coach LoPresti also coached and taught for two years at Barnstable High School, coaching both years one as the head coach of the 8th grade team and then as the Freshman head coach.  His basketball experience includes 17 years as a head coach and 5 years as an assistant coach.

Ben Shuffain - Offensive Coordinator,
Strength Coach

Ben Shuffain is entering his second season with Oliver Ames. In 2019 he led the Freshman Team to a 6-3-1 record. He will be mainly with the Varsity this season as the Offensive Coordinator. Along with being the OC Coach Shuffain will also work with Edge Rushers and run the Junior Varsity squad. Coach Shuffain also is in charge of our offseason lifting and conditioning program.  Ben started playing football for the Sharon-Easton Pop Warner when he was in second grade and was a three year starting Varsity Quarterback and Captain for the Sharon Eagles from 96-98 where he still holds season and game passing records. Shuffain went on to play football at Nichols College where shoulder injuries shortened his stint there. After college he coached the quarterbacks and led the JV and Freshman programs in Sharon from 2003-2006 until he enlisted in the Navy where he spent eight years serving our country. Ben is a Physical Education/Health teacher and the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Canton High School.
