Come Out to Support the Cheerleaders!
In case some of you have not already heard, the OA Cheerleaders have been selected to participate in the Citrus Bowl this December. This is a huge accomplishment- and very expensive. All funds need to be separate from the Booster fundraising because this is an exceptional and unplanned opportunity. Over the past few months the team has worked hard to raise the funds for their trip. The girls have been out there for months running canning, car wash, cookie dough sales, etc. This Thursday, September 27th they will be hosting the fundraiser at Papa Gino's on Washington St. 20% of all the proceeds will go back to the cheerleaders to help defray the cost of the their trip to Florida to cheer in the Citrus Bowl. Please come show the support of the OA Football family. It's an easy dinner and a great way to help a team that has made Oliver Ames very proud. After a historic football season in 2011 that ended in the program's first ever appearance in a Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium, the OA football squad isn't the only program making their mark on school history. To Read the full Patch article by Patrick Maguire >click here The Cheerleaders attended UCA summer camp in July . The girls came home with multiple awards. Trophy for Most improved cheer squad, a plaque voted on by all the other squads at camp for Leadership. Another trophy with another invitation for a Florida trip to cheer ( we cannot attend because it's the same week we will already be there). Both captains were invited to cheer at the Macy day parade on thanksgiving. We also came home with 1 red excellent ribbon, 8 blue superior ribbons.
Oliver Ames Football Cheerleaders got nominated and will be going to Florida in December to cheer at the Citrus Bowl game DURING HALF TIME and will be marching in the universal studios Macys parade. Way to go Oliver Ames!
